Subtle Thunder

Who teaches the bee how to fly, how to collect pollen, how to return to the hive?
Who enables it to fly - miniature wings beating the air so quickly, almost invisible, carrying such a load?
The marvel ... the mystery ... the unfathomable genius of God to create even a bumble bee ... such a tiny work ... and then to consider the moon ... the sun ...

No words to express ... only endless, resonant wonder.

This photograph was taken during a Labor Day weekend camp trip in the Ochoco Mountains, September 2004.

The reduced resolution for this web site image obscures the scripture reference placed in the upper left and lower right portions of this image quoting Job 26:14 (NIV): "These are but the outer fringe of His works; how faint the whisper we hear of Him! Who then can understand the thunder of His power?"
It appears clearer in the actual image.
